Dr Dre's publicist has confirmed that the rapper's son, Andre Young Jr, died at home in Los Angeles on Saturday morning.
�Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please deference his family�s grief and privacy at this meter,� the rapper's publiciser said in an emailed statement to Gigwise.
Initial unconfirmed reports, which emerged this morning in the Los Angeles Times, said Young Jr, 20, was discovered by his mother at 10am in his bedroom.
The newspaper aforementioned he had returned from a party in the early hours of the morning. It's understood that police do not mistrust any foul-smelling play in the end.
Dr Dre's publicist did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
An autopsy on Monday failed to obtain a cause of expiry and medical examiners ar awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Dr Dre is scheduled to release his long hoped-for new studio album, 'Detox', later this year.
